POINTS OF INTEREST NEAR ROE

The neighborhood that Roe resides in is referred to as the South of Market district (which borders Market Street), or also known as SOMA. Roe is located in the heart of SOMA, in close proximity to the Moscone Center, the Yerba Buena Gardens, as well as numerous hotels.

Located on Howard Street, Roe is a five-minute walk from the Moscone Center, the largest convention and exhibit complex in San Francisco, CA. Comprised of three main halls, including Moscone North, South and West, the complex hosts some of the biggest conferences in North America. These include the MacWorld Expo, the American Bar Association’s Annual Meeting, the Game Developers Conference, the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference and JavaOne. Additionally, Roe is situated adjacent to the Yerba Buena Gardens, a two-block span of public parks in SOMA. Yerba Buena Gardens boasts the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, an ice-skating rink, a bowling alley and a restored 1905 carousel. The Gardens also feature numerous waterfalls and open space for relaxing and several casual eateries. Across the street from the Yerba Buena Gardens is the famous San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) and close in the area are the Cartoon Art Museum, the Museum of the African Diaspora, the Contemporary Jewish Museum and the Mexican Heritage Museum.

The SOMA district also boasts numerous luxury hotels and incredible shopping. The Westfield Shopping Center is a shopping emporium that resides at the Powell and Market cable car turn-around. Not to be outdone by Union Square, the Westfield has a wide variety of top-of-the-line boutiques and department stores (such as Bloomingdales,) the Century Theaters cineplex, and even the luxurious Burke Williams Day Spa located on the fifth floor.
